Our inspiration: A calling to serve
The heart of Something Good 4 The Hood Inc beats for low-income individuals and families. Our founder was deeply inspired by God and her late Pastor Gerald L. Graves, whose ministry, "Something Good in the Hood," championed the simple yet profound mission to help someone. This calling began with feeding the homeless community one Sunday out of the month with her church led by her now Pastor, Bishop Kim E Graves expanding to a three-year tradition of feeding the homeless community on Thanksgiving Day. From these humble beginnings, Something Good 4 The Hood Inc was born, driven by a vision for "The Something Good 4 The Hood Hope Center"—a place offering more than just a meal, but a beacon of hope.
"Our mission is to provide a place and opportunity for individuals and families to receive immediate and long-term assistance with basic needs including food supplies, resources, job readiness, and skills for a lifetime."

From struggle to strength: A personal journey
Born to a mother battling addiction, our founder was raised by a loving family who provided stability and care. As a mother of six, she personally navigated struggles to provide basic necessities for her children, who are now thriving adults. This lived experience fuels her passion to ensure others know there is hope and to never give up. Her journey underscores the profound impact of support and the power of resilience.
